How I go from 100K LOC to a few thousand these days: Lately I find that I enjoy having a very messy branch with lots of twists and turns, tests for verification, scripts to load test/adversarially break things, and experiments. Sometimes I am trying things to understand the pieces better. Rarely do I want all that bloat and slop to enter the main branch of the repo.
